Cannabis is a popular supplement for people suffering from arthritis, fibromyalgia and other chronic pain disorders. THC and CBD are the ones responsible for fighting pain and inflammation, according to the science. A review from 2013 states that cannabidiol (CBD) can help to relieve pain caused by fibromyalgia and other conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis. This isn’t debatable, and it’s one of many such reviews.

Growing for your own medicinal needs under Health Canada’s ACMPR program can be very rewarding and give you piece of mind knowing full well what chemicals and pesticides went into it. However, it requires hard work and dedication and may cost more than you expect to get going but in the long run you will save a lot of money.

First things first, you’ll want to get an ACMPR personal use production licence. This means that you will be able to grow for yourself and potentially 3 other people as Health Canada allows up to 4 licences per address. You are not allowed to sell to the public and whatever is produced at that location can only go to the people that have their licences assigned to that grow.

You’re going to need a prescription, especial if you want to make bath soap or Cannabis infused Topical lotion. If you contact us, we can help get you your prescription that may require allowance for a lot of plants to be grown by you, on your properly, completely legally.

Sometimes it requires more cannabis to make cannabis products that will help you with your ailments, and growing it yourself insures you know what’s in it and no harmful substances like carcinogenic chemicals are used.

Lotion can be applied to the skin on the areas affected by arthritis, Fibromyalgia, for example,  is a medical condition that causes widespread body pain and stiffness in the muscles and joints as well as sleep problems. Having a bath, according to many is a great solution .

Fibromyalgia patients have reported that CBD helps greatly with chronic pain, sleep, endurance, anxiety, depression, inflammation, muscle spasms, overall mental health and well-being, mood, and more.

You can create a mix of THC and CBD bath bombs, or only make CBD infused bath bombs. CBD bath bombs are good for people who do not want or are not able to use THC. You can also make your own cannabis oil.

Again, doing this all by yourself insures you know what’s in your product.  We connect you with compassionate doctors who are willing to write you a prescription you need. If you like to make products, you are obviously going to require a license and a prescription that allows you to grow a lot of plants, completely legally.

Ingredients You Will Need

  • 100mg CBD
  • 1 tablespoons olive oil or coconut oil.
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup Citric Acid
  • 1/2 cup Epsom Salt
  • 1/2 cup corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • Your choice of essentials oils 30-40 drops

Directions

  1. Place the dry ingredients in a large bowl and mix together with a whisk.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the liquid ingredients together, including the CBD oil until well blended.
  3. In the large bowl, very slowly add the liquid mixture to the dry ingredients at little bit at a time. Mixture should hold together when squeezed without crumbling.
  4. When well mixed, pack the mixture into your bath bomb mold and pack tightly, then let it dry. Make sure you work quickly so the mixture doesn’t dry out in the process.
  5. Bath Bombs need a full day to fully harden. If they’re not quite hardened enough, they may crumble when you handle them, so check to make sure before taking them completely out of the mold

Growing Your Own Legally

You will need a Doctor to give you a prescription using the proper Health Canada form found here. Once signed, you will have to mail this document along with the ACMPR form found here which require you to specify where you plan to grow and you will also need the property owners consent if it is not your primary residence. We recommend always getting the property owners consent even if you don’t need it for this licence. You could technically get a licence to grow without their consent but they could always evict you and its just bad karma, just tell them.

Health Canada allows you to grow approximately 5 times the amount of grams you were prescribed per day in plants i.e. if you were prescribed 5 gram per day, you can grow 25 plants indoors. Many Doctors are not comfortable signing these prescriptions and if they do, they are extremely conservative and don’t understand that many people prefer to eat or juice rather than smoke and this require much more product. There are clinics that can guide you through the process and get you a plant allowance that is large enough for you to be self-sufficient and not risk going over your limits.

Once you mail out the prescription along with the ACMPR document you are not legally allowed to begin growing. While it is very common for people to start growing because they believe that the Doctor is basically the gatekeeper to the program while Health Canada is more administrative, you are not yet legal and could get in trouble with the law. You have to wait until Health Canada mails you your official licence and then and only then are you legally allowed to begin growing.
We strongly recommend starting out the right way and this will ensure you are 100% legal and can focus on the fun of growing for yourself.

If you’d like assistance to make sure you go through the process legally and the right way, please contact us about acquiring a licence and we’ll help you through the process every step of the way.
