Hemp is one of the most powerful plants in the world, producing twice as much fiber as cotton, using far less water and pesticides. It can be used to make anything from clothes, to hempcrete, which is actually much stronger than concrete.
Because of its misunderstood association with marijuana,it’s been illegal to grow in the United States for over 80 years, but is that the real reason? Hemp threatens so many industries. But the good news is, not long ago, The U.S. Senate approved a bill to legalize hemp, an industrial crop that has been banned for decades.
“We partnered with fiber technology specialists to create a ‘cottonization’ process that softens the fiber — using very little energy or chemical processing — to make it look, and more importantly feel, almost indistinguishable from cotton,” the company says in a press release.
The cannabis analytics firm New Frontier predicts that the hemp industry will reach $5.7 billion by 2020.
Nothing could be better for the environment, hemp is completely biodegradable. If we made all substances we throw in the trash, like plastic water bottles, out of hemp, the world would be so much cleaner. Hemp is the way to go and it can literally save our world.
Hemp can also heal our soul by removing toxins from it, and it has a variety of other applications too.
Hopefully this is the start of a big trend.
