Isn’t it amazing how a plant with so many medicinal and therapeutic benefits is still illegal in so many different parts of the world? Thankfully, that’s not the case in Canada, where you can both purchase and grow it yourself, which is what we encourage people to do.

Thankfully, a revolution is happening, and cannabis is quickly becoming seen for what it actually is, a harmless medicine that’s capable of transforming the lives of sick people.

According to the Anadolu Agency, one of multiple media outlets reporting this news:

Thailand has allowed use of marijuana to be used in medication, local media reported.

The Southeast Asian country’s Health Ministry approved 17 medical formulas that would contain marijuana for local health hospitals, the Nation daily reported.

Dr. Marut Jirasrattasiri, who leads the Thai Alternative Medicine Department, said: “More than 60,000 people are now interested in receiving medical marijuana treatment in state public health facilities nationwide.”

The government has allowed 152 hospitals to “expand the cultivation of cannabis plants for medical use,” setting a treatment target of about 15,200 people.

The use of marijuana for medicinal treatment has been widely debated by governments across the globe.

Not long ago, the Government of Thailand delivered 4,500 bottles of cannabis oil to treat hospital patients in what marked its first official use of marijuana for medical purposes since a recent measure legalizing such use took effect this year. Thailand has a tradition of using cannabis to relieve pain and fatigue, so it’s great to see that they’ve legalized marijuana for medical use, not to mention that it’s also going to boost their agricultural income.

This year, when it comes to medical marijuana, officials in the country have been doing what they can to get the world out about medical marijuana, including the distribution of cartoon cannabis dolls and publicly using marijuana oils. The country recently announced their launch of the government’s medical cannabis education website, and did so at an event where Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o cha made the announcement. He did so alongside a person wearing a spectacled marijuana leaf costume called Dr. Gaja, where children were also in attendance carrying their own Dr. Ganja dolls. You can read more about that here.
